The Veterans and Military Coalition of the Ozarks is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization qualifying under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.   OUR GOALS   The Coalition is a group of similarly minded veterans and military service organizations in joint pursuit of the following goals:   Ensuring that veterans, military service members and their families can access the full range of benefits and services available to them. Fighting for the interests of America’s veterans, military heroes and their families. Educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans, military service members and their families. Ensuring programs and services are provided to directly support uniformed service members and veterans of all ranks, their families, and their survivors. The programs fall into four (4) areas of urgent need:  1. Jobs/Job training/employment assistance/professional education 2. Assisting veterans in need, spouses and families 3. Veterans’ benefits and disability assistance 4. Support to state veterans’ homes and cemeteries   Promoting legislation and representing the interests of the entire uniformed services community, including members' families and survivors, and responding to assaults upon the compensation and benefits earned by members of that community achieved through years of dedicated service.   Ensuring direct, free professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other local, state or federal governmental agencies.   Representing the interests of veterans, their families, their widowed spouses and their orphans before local, state and federal government.   Extending the Coalition’s mission of hope into the communities where these veterans and their families live through a network of Coalition organizations.    Providing a structure through which veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety of volunteer programs and camaraderie.
